Caution it's Cancer Season - deep emotions ahead.

There’s no way around it. Cancer season is here and you’re going to have to come face-to-face with your feelings. Between the dates of June 21 and July 22, the sun moves into a new position in the cosmos and all that light, airy and socially energetic energy of Gemini slowly begins to fade. With Cancer season upon us, we plunge deep into moody waters and prepare to sink softly and gently, into the depths of our emotions.

The fourth sign of the zodiac, Cancer is a cardinal water sign known for being highly perceptive and prone to strong fluctuations in mood and temperament. Ruled by the moon, Cancerians are said to always be going through ‘a phase’. In fact, the energy of the season may well impose the same emotive, nurturing and intuitive forces synonymous with the moon, on our own human psyche.

If we tune in to the energy of Cancer, it may put us in touch with issues we’d rather not deal with, but it can also be one of the most healing seasons of the zodiac, harnessing a rare power to bring our deepest emotions to the surface so we can work through them and finally let them go.

The sign of ‘the crab’, whose softness is protected by its hard outer shell, Cancerians are known for being self-protective, always seeking a sense of safety and security. They prefer staying in their own territory, being guardians and caretakers to those they love and trust.

The sign of Cancer rules the home and those born under this star sign are often highly maternal and family-orientated with a sensitive and caring nature. Cancerians take great pride in family and prefer to surround themselves with the warm and familiar, rather than seeking the thrills of the new and unknown. They have a zest and enthusiasm for upholding tradition and honour family heritage, with a nostalgic and sentimental spirit.

This season offers the right kind of energy to connect with where we come from, celebrating and appreciating those we love and widening our embrace to the people who give us a sense of home and belonging.

So, get back in touch with your roots and pursue some heartfelt, homespun enjoyment during Cancer season. There’ll be plenty of time to get back out amongst the action, but focussing on yourself, your home and your family can be a great opportunity to slow down and simply enjoy what’s right in front of you.
